The Rota-Lite was specifically developed for intersections that do not have adequate space to install a major solar system that is some 12 meters by 3 meters. The system is developed to house the necessary equipment that will provide standby power through the use of batteries for a period of up to 12 hours. The system is unique in that it offers illuminated signage and sign rotation utilizing the power of a single circular solar panel (90wp) specifically designed for  this application (See Appendix 2). To further enhance the product the inclusion of street names that are lit makes the system both enterprising and appealing to the corporate marketing agencies as well as to the Johannesburg Road Agency.
